Rapid searching on MacUpdate

There are numerous hidden "pro" features built into the MacUpdate website that really deserve some spotlight time. One of these features is a search feature.

Many users, including myself, would rather not be required to load the entire front page of MacUpdate before using the search form. I think MacUpdate solved this dilemma in an innovated way that feels natural to you as a user. The screenshot below shows search results for "itunes." This search was not performed using the search form on the MacUpdate pages. It's much more simple.

When you're typing in the address to go to MacUpdate in your web browser, simply type in macupdate.com/ followed by the words for your search. For example, if you want to search for everything iTunes related, type: macupdate.com/itunes. Then hit return. You will automatically be forwarded to the search results page for "iTunes."



Other examples:

• macupdate.com/quicktime movies (searches for "quicktime movies" on MacUpdate)
