PR: Daily discounted software
[PR] MacUpdate announces daily discounted software
MacUpdate today announces the launch of a new program called the MacUpdate Promo. Every weekday, MacUpdate will feature a new software title on the front page sidebar, giving Macintosh users the opportunity to purchase that title at a steep discount. For example, today users can purchase iClip at a 40% discount. This is a great deal because you will receive a free upgrade to the highly anticipated version 4.0 release, which will cost considerably more than $12.
Each promo will run for only 24-hours, starting at midnight (EDT). "We're really excited about the
software titles scheduled to participate in the promo launch. Developers are working with us to offer big discounts on some of the highest rated, award winning Mac software. The promo helps connect users to developers in a win-win situation," states Joel Mueller of MacUpdate.
To take part in the daily software promotions, create a free MacUpdate Member account and click on the Promo sidebar banner on the right sidebar of the front page.
"We've worked really hard at making the process seamless and simple for people buying at big discounts. After purchasing a promo, users will receive a serial number registration within seconds for most of the participating titles. "We think it's really important that users have the immediacy of using their registered software right after securely buying it," states Joel.
RSS savvy users will want to subscribe to the MacUpdate Promo RSS feed that will highlight the daily MacUpdate Promo, with details about the product at:

Developers that are interested in securing a spot in the promo spotlight should email Nate at: promo@macupdate.com

Hmm. Sounds like MacZot.
Competition's a good thing, I guess!
Good stuff! Nice to have some competition to MacZOT. Those guys tend to repeat themselves lately with the software they offer.
Cheers, Pom
Awesome new feature.
Hmmm...this seems familiar. Oh yeah, MacZot already does exactly this.
thanks!!!
Mac is good.
Perfect timing, because the guys over at MacZOT are working hard to alienate every last one of their most loyal customers.
So is this even going anywhere? I see iClip which was offerred two days ago on the 27th. Already have it...so what's next?
What a great idea. Thanks
Is there a list of apps you've already offered? I'd love to see that.
You need to have Paypal support. You'll gain a lot more revenue
so you copied maczot
...
MacZot is another service. They are much like woot.com, which is the site that made technology deals-a-day popular. Now there are hundreds of these sites out there. We thought we could help out developers and users at the same time, seeing as we already have the foundation in place to run MacUpdate Promo. So far so good. Thanks for your support!
