Site changes

Last night we uploaded some really great enhancements to MacUpdate. There are a few hiccups and we're asking the community to email or post (to this blog) issues you find in an objective manner. Once the issues are all ironed out, I'll make another post that highlights some of the changes and walks you through their benefits.

You might notice that there are some limits on content across the site. For example, new releases only shows 150 and then stops. These types of limits are temporary as we test the efficiency under high loads of traffic. Once we're confident it can handle it, we'll remove the limits and the features will be as they were before. This is not a business model change -- simply a precaution for testing purposes. We appreciate your patience with this.

Over the course of the last couple of hours, we've been able to fix erradic search results behavior in Safari, Firefox and Opera. Let us know if you see anymore issues with function on the site.

We're also working on a revision that will make page loading considerably faster. I'm hoping to have it live shortly. Thanks again for your patience and help with this transition. Anything you can do to contribute objectively will make it easier for us to make the site top notch for you and the rest of the community.

mupromo supports shipped products

The MacUpdate Promo now supports 24-hour discounts on boxed software products. This means you'll get deals on bigger software that gets shipped by UPS directly to your home or office.

We're really excited about how straight forward the shipping information is integrated into the order form. No need to re-type your shipping address if it's the same as the billing. Instead, click the checkbox and you're done.

But the best part is that it automatically connects to the UPS servers, giving you a live shipping quote that is accurate for any address worldwide.

To kick off the boxed software promotion, today's promo ships iListen to your front door. iListen is the best speech recognition and dictation software for the Mac. Included in the bundle is one of the best quality headphone/microphone sets. Order it today at a 36% discount. Shipping in the United States is free.
